One of my favorite pattern designers for children is branching out into women’s patterns and I couldn’t be more excited! Misusu’s Diamond Sweater for women is finally here! The children’s version has been one of my favorite patterns for a while now. I love the unique piecing of the front and all of the different options that come with one pattern. So when I saw Elles was planning a women’s version, as well as extending the size range for the children’s pattern, I knew I wanted to be apart of the tester group!

For my diamond sweater, I decided to try a mix of quilted knit with some random scraps I’ve had in my scrap bin for a while now. This pattern is a great scrap buster! I made the high low sweater version and added some zipper accents to the edges of my diamond by laying them in between the layers. I cannot wait to make many more of these for my closet. They are perfect for layering over a tee in cooler weather, and there are even options for 3/4 and short sleeves for the warmer months. Plus, the pattern comes with several different sweater lengths and a plain front option for if you want to omit the diamond piecing.
The patterns come with layers and the great illustrations and directions that Misusu has become known for. She carefully takes you through the steps of piercing the diamond together and explains the direction of ironing to help create a clean and polished finish. In fact, the finishing techniques that can be found throughout all of her patterns are one of the reasons I love Misusu’s patterns so much. Also, there is no converting of measurements required since Elles provides them in both cm and in, and seam allowance is included.
