Crafting Against the Grain

Hello All!  I’m Alexis – a sewing enthusiast, all around creative, a mother to a rambunctious five-year-old boy, a one-year-old girl, and the wife of one of the hardest working men around.  I’ve always been a creative person and was raised in a creative family that prides themselves on hard work and attention to details.  My love of art and sewing led me to open Cotton and Grain Sewing Co. and my love of helping others to learn to love the crafting world led me to start Crafting Against the Grain.

My current crafting passion is sewing so most of this blog will revolve around pattern modifications, tutorials, quick weekday projects, and appliques.  If you aren’t a seamstress, don’t fret!  I’m also a closet crafter and mom, who finds inspiration in my everyday life, and loves to come up with exciting activities and projects for my son and my home.  I’m sure as this blog develops, a sprinkling of farm life, gardening tips, recipes, and even a few mountain adventures will work their way into the mix.
